River Thames
Just Boats–A favourite Subject
Black and White, Boats, England, Monochrome, Photography, RichmondUponThames, River ThamesFound these again yesterday I had them processed and ready to post but then I got the roll of film back and posted those instead. So before these get lost in the depths of the disk drive I thought I would get them posted.
I love boats. Mostly row boats. They are a subject I never tire of shooting.
Testing Nikon F80 35mm Film Camera
England, Film, Photography, River ThamesPicked up the prints of my test roll of film yesterday. Shot these to see if all was well with the camera, as I only have a 3 month guarantee. All seems to be in working order. Although I need to practice with film and learn the ins and outs a bit more.
These were shot with Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400. I scanned the negative and the print. Each set has had the same Photoshop adjustments for comparison. The negative scan is on the top and the print scan underneath. The print size is 6×4.
Beating the Heat
Animals, birds, England, Nature, Photography, Pigeons, RichmondUponThames, River Thames, WildlifeA walk along the River Thames where you can always find something interesting. Took along both my DSLR and the Nikon F80 for testing, film will be picked up tomorrow, hoping for something good from that roll of film. BUT more than likely nothing good.
Even the birds have found a way to beat the heat we have been experiencing this week.
What was Left Behind
England, Left Behind, Photography, River ThamesI think I have found a new project to work on when I am out and about with my camera. Do you ever see things that you stop and wonder why they were left? I mean with the first photo you kind of know why that was left behind but I do ask myself what the heck happened to the other half? And the key, wasn’t that needed? Hmmm!!
I tried to get all artsy fartsy with the key image on this shot. Baa Haa Haa!
The Boatman
Black and White, England, Hampton, Monochrome, Photography, River ThamesGarrick’s Temple to Shakespeare
Architecture, Black and White, England, Hampton, Historic, Landscape, Monochrome, Photography, River ThamesIt has been a few years since I visited this area with my camera. Along the River Thames in West Molesey near Hampton. So wish the sky had more detail.
I shot the scene first with my 28mm then my 50mm. I do prefer the 50mm shot.
The shot below is the same 50mm shot which I ran an Oil paint filter for something different.
Of course I could not resist testing black and white on the following compositions. I like them!
Phone Photos
England, London, Nature, PhoneTography, River Thames, WindsorHello to you all. I have not posted for a while and for that matter haven’t really been out shooting much with “the big” camera (DSLR). I tend to go through these stages from time to time, usually when I am waiting for a change in seasons, which is getting close now.
However, I have been shooting things with my lovely Samsung S5 phone. As it is (nearly) always with me and easy to take a shot of stuff and things that catch my eye. I process my phone shots using Snapseed and VSCO apps. I then share them via Instagram and I have also recently signed up for VSCO. I am not quite sure how the VSCO grid works really, but I do like the app and the filters available.

So Far Behind…
England, Photography, River Thames, Views, WindsorI am so far behind in processing and sharing photos that I really need to get busy with them. For now here is one I took a few weeks ago in Windsor. I will eventually get caught up… umm maybe. More likely I will go out and shoot more before doing so.
If you are anything like me you will take a photo and then you will not be sure if you like it or not. So you will leave it to sit for a while and then revisit it at a later date. This is one of those for me.
Across the River
In Colour
Art, Creative, England, Photography, RichmondUponThames, River ThamesI liked yesterdays picture of the day so much that I thought I would try it in colour.
Have to say I like it in colour as much as I do in monochrome.
